CPS has been connecting enthusiastic boaters for 70 years and has played a major role in boating culture in Canada. CPS is a volunteer driven organization with a reputation for high-quality boating education, safety publications and other resources available to its membership. With over 32,000 members from 173 local clubs (Squadrons) across Canada, members have access to a huge network of new friends, educators and enthusiasts, all of whom recognize that CPS is the established leader and trend setter for recreational boating in this country.

The New Brunswick Sailing Association (NBSA) is the provincial governing body for boating and the sport of sailing in the province and is the Canadian Yachting Association’s representative in New Brunswick. NBSA is a non-profit volunteer association with a mission to provide leadership, coordination and training to meet the needs of all New Brunswick boaters.
Derek Hatfield was the 2003 Canadian Rolex Sailor of the Year and the 126th person in history to finish a single-handed race around the world. Derek is the first to ever fly the Canadian flag as a competitor in the grueling Vendee Globe single handed around the world race.

His sailing portfolio also includes; crew of the J-boat “Justified” both when it was a little J/29 and after the growth spurt that took it to a J/35; and, crew member on the Cygnus known as “Dragon Slayer”.
