Brian Bermuda Blog Final Edition #5 Big Spending on a Big Ending

So Judy and I have been here in Bermuda for three weeks now and we go home this coming Thursday, January 10…boo!  Everyone at home has been telling us about the snow and cold so we will be prepared.

Most people think of Bermuda as an island in the Caribbean, However  it is in the Atlantic Ocean, 600 miles due east of one of the Carolinas…east towards Africa.

Brian Bermuda Blog Ed. #4 Herbs/Aquariums/Biking/Boxing Day Sales

Sat, Dec 22 – Sat Dec 29, 2012

As it turned out it was a week of cycling and doing the visitors thing.  Got out on the bike four times with the longest ride being two and a half hours

Judy and I went on a walk with a naturalist doctor who explained all the herbal remedies used by Bermudians in the past.

On Thursday Dec 27 we went on a special tour  of the at the Bermuda Aquarium Museum & Zoo http://www.bamz.org/ with the curator. It was a behind the scenes look at the operation of the place…awesome is the only way to describe it all.

Brian’s Bermuda Blog Edtion 3 Dec 16-22

Sun Dec 16 – Sat, Dec 22

Last Sunday (Dec 16), Judy and I joined Ted Wood, his wife Jasmine, his business partner and his family for a cruise on Ted’s motor yacht to The Royal Navy Dockyard . We had a great supper at the Frog and Onion Pub.  As always, it is great seeing the Island from the water.  We arrived back from our 5 hour excursion in the dark .  What a treat seeing all the Christmas lights and decorations as we entered Flatt’s Village.

Brian’s Bermuda Blog Edition 2 Wed, Dec 19 – Road Biking

Wed Dec 18

Today the wind is blowing a solid sustained 28 knots of wind with gusts into the 30s.  So going to wait for the wind to drop before venturing out again.

I have the use of a road bike thanks for a sailing friend here in Bermuda.  Had a great tune up ride on Tuesday as you can see from the picture.

Does a Corbin 39 + a Corbin 39 = a 78 Foot Quadruple Ender?

On my way to work on Wed, Dec 12 I stopped to watch this “boat flip-flop” at the Fredericton Yacht Club and was lucky enough have a great “gam” with another observer who was the dad of the owner.

Here is what I understand… the owner of the white Corbin 39, Mike C Jr. found the green Corbin 39 named Lucky Lady in Maine. These pictures were taken during a process involving:
